Archaeologists dug the world-wide renowned and recognized tooth, skull and limb bone remains of Rudapithecus Hungaricus out of ten-million-year-old marsh sludge. The valleys of mountains being rich in iron ore, lying near Rudabánya, are waiting for explorers with fantastic views. Film-makers also like this special scenery and often use the area as a sweltering tropical shore or as a horrific desert island.
